So I was bidding on an item on ebay and was not the top bidder, and was waiting for the end to raise it a bit. There was only one other person bidding. And I get this email a full day before the auction is supposed to end. "I'm the seller of the item that you've recently bided through the eBay system. (gives item name and number) I`ve just been contacted by the eBay staff who informed me that due to some reasons the eBay policy automatically proclaims you to be the winner by default. I need your agreement on this so I can contact eBay to confirm you that you're the winner, otherwise I'll relist the item. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I need an answer asap. You will have the oportunity to purchase the item at your last given price wich is US $195.00 .If you agree my offer please respond this email or contact me. Thank you!" I forwarded the email to Ebay to see if they could give me some clue as to if this really did occur, and the seller has a rating of 130 or so, with 100% positive feedback. I havent used ebay in quite some time, and was wondering if this is some new type of scam or what you guys think about it. Thanks a lot.
